First things first: you’ll want to determine how many cars you want wrapped. Are you a big company with massive fleets of cars? A local company with a smaller fleet? A small company, maybe even personally owned with just one or two cars? Whatever the number, have in mind how many cars you’re looking to get wrapped. You might even strike a deal if there’s a larger number of wraps being printed and installed.
Determine the year, make and model of the car(s) getting wrapped. This determines how the design will be laid out. For example, small, low clearance vehicles might need to have part of the design wrap around the top, whereas that would be unnecessary with high clearance vehicles. As a forewarning, cars with lots of small areas and edges are more difficult to install, so there may be a higher installation cost for them. Also, just a heads up, be sure each vehicle is in good condition! Rust, chipping paint, or unfinished body work makes it difficult to apply a vehicle wrap and might not stick very well or could cause paint damage upon removal.

From big branded 18-wheel semis to work trucks, to school charter buses and small delivery cars, vehicle wraps can cover it all. It’s a worthy investment that’ll boost your cross-media marketing strategy and get your name out every time you hit the road.
Where will the design go on your vehicle? Well, you’ve got options!
Full car wraps cover all or the majority of the vehicle. These wraps include the brand logo, information and lots of color and design to grab people’s attention.
A less expensive option is a partial wrap, which, as the name suggests, covers only part of the vehicle. You can decide if the design goes from front to back on one side, or if it goes from the bottom of one door over the top.
Small decals of your logo or contact information can be placed on the hood, side doors, or rear window.
Though not so common anymore, another option is a magnetic sign to be placed on doors or back bumpers. They aren’t done as often anymore because cars are being built out of aluminum, to which a magnet won't stick. But if it works for you, a magnet would be an affordable, easily removable option.

Just what, exactly, will be put on your vehicle? Vehicle wraps are like classy stickers that can go across your entire car, not just on your bumper to let everyone know who you plan to vote for in the next election. There’s a couple different materials that can be used, depending on how long you’d like the graphic to stay on and what kind of design you choose.
Temporary film: 3M 35-52. This is a wrap film with adhesion that will last 6 months to a year. It’s great for starting off a company or if you’re undergoing changes, because you can change and modify it within a relatively short amount of time. Another purpose could be to have your wrap promoting a specific product that maybe you don’t want on the outside of your car forever.
Vinyl: 3M IJ 180C (backed with control tac). Vinyl is durable. You could crumple it up into a ball, then hit it with a heat gun and it’ll go back right to its orignal shape. It’s a material designed to work around seams, bumpers, mirrors, etc. This material can last 3-5 years or even longer, depending on how the vehicle graphic is cared for.
Yes, designs fade over time, but here’s a helpful tip: Pick lighter colors when designing your car wrap. Dark colors like black usually fade quicker. Ultimately, a large part of a wrap's longevity depends on how well you take car of it. Check out these helpful tips on how to protect your car wrap!
